This event will take place at The Mary Jacobs Library in Rocky Hill, NJ and is Free. Veronique Cardon, MS will present the multiple health benefits of our microbiome, the role of different probiotics strains, where to find them and how to select the right foods or supplements.

Our good gut flora has an incredible influence not only on the way we digest foods, but also on how well we do from a mental perspective and maintain a strong immune system. Poor gut health is linked to depression, anxiety and other mental issues.

Processed foods and lack of balance in the way we eat creates dysbiosis and can negatively impact the survival and reproduction of the good flora. But also, antibiotics, poor life hygiene, not enough fiber, excess sugar, and pain relievers can destroy your good flora.

You have all heard about probiotics contained in dairy such as yogurt and kefir, but also in fermented foods such as sauerkraut, kimchi or fermented cabbage, a Korean staple, and more foods and drinks such as fermented soy or miso.

In this 1.5 hour interactive workshop you will learn:

  • What is a good bacteria
  • Why we need them
  • Where can we get them and how much do we need

You will receive a paper copy of Veronique’s presentation.
