Why not try a healthy and refreshing green smoothie this week, delicious and packed with vegetables! It will help you achieve the recommended 7 servings of vegetables/fruits a day, which as we know can be very challenging. You can add a source of protein by adding protein powder, nuts, or nut butters to make this smoothie a complete meal.

For a couple of glasses of smoothie, which keeps a day or two in the fridge:

– 1 avocado

– 1/2 medium cucumber (peeled or not, your choice)

– 2 medium kale leaves with the tough stems  removed

– 1 or 2 celery stalks

– 1 peeled small apple or 1 large peeled carrot

– 1/2 peeled lemon

– Chia seeds or flax seeds to taste

– Coconut water and/or water

– Ice cubes

A few tips for smoothie making: I freeze my cucumber in cubes so that it serves as ice and thickens the smoothie. Add water and coconut water to your taste to achieve the right consistency in your smoothie. And don’t be afraid to get creative and try new things to find your favorite green smoothie recipe!
